Ten women groups drawn from ten wards are set to benefit from Sh1.5 million in the first phase, with the remaining ten wards expected to get their share in the second phase.

Speaking during her first stop at Kiabonyoru on Monday, Chae challenged the beneficiaries to use the funds prudently to uplift their social-economic status in the society.

“Through the affirmative action, my office is issuing Sh1.5 million to ten groups selected from ten wards. Each group is receiving Sh150,000 and the remaining ten wards will benefit during the second phase,” Chae said.

“I challenge the leadership of all beneficiaries to uphold high class integrity so that they get something good out of the contributions. As a leader, I am determined to see our women empowered to achieve social-economic stability,” she added.

Chae expressed her optimism that a petition challenging establishment of the women representative kitty would be dismissed by high court.

“We have struggled as women leaders because we have been serving people from our own pockets. It is sad that someone would launch a petition to challenge our kitty which was established recently. I am however optimistic that the petition will crumble,” she said during another stop over at Nyansiongo ward.
