The two, Polken Women Group (Township) and Mwamagara Widows (Rigoma) have been embracing the table banking concept spearheaded by Deputy President William Ruto's wife, Rachael, and received Sh150,000 each as part of the ongoing disbursement of Sh1.5 million table banking funds from the office of the woman representative.

Speaking during the event, Mrs Chae urged the beneficiaries to use the money for the intended purpose and become role models to other groups in their respective regions.

“I want to challenge the beneficiaries to ensure the funds are used for intended purpose so that you become role model of many other women groups from your wards,” she said.

“That can be done if you adhere strictly to guidelines of your respective groups to avert any conflict of interest. We want to see improvement of living standards to our people and that can only be realized if we are ready to join social-economic groups,” she said.

She hailed the National Assembly for approving the Affirmative Action Social Development Fund which is controlled by the offices of Women Representatives in all the 47 counties.

“I wish to thank the National Assembly and the government for setting aside AASDF to our offices. We fought for the kitty for many years but as your Women Representative, I am ready to distribute the funds in a transparent and justly manner,” she said.
