During the visits to Manga-Sengera, Manga’Nyaisa, Ikobe and Morako secondary schools, she seized the opportunity to donate sanitary towels, panties to girls and boxers for boys.

Mrs Chae urged students across the county to work hand in hand with their teachers to improve the academic standards of the region.

“The main reason why I have come here is to share with you students so that we can find a way to improve academic standards in our district schools. We can all make it because you have the same teachers as those who teach in national schools,” she said.

“I come along with sanitary towels, among other items so that children from poor backgrounds benefit from the ongoing sanitary towels and motivational talks,” she added.

She also warned students against burning schools following several incidents of infernos in a number of schools from Kisii.

“Sometimes it hurts that our schools only catch negative national headlines. It’s stupid to burn schools yet the same parents who pay for your fee will again pay the fine. Concentrate on your studies. I always like making impromptu trips because they allow me to access properly the progress in our institutions,” she said.
