Speaking at the Lamu Fort during the launch of a Sh60 million bursary kitty for secondary school students, the governor said he will beat his two main rivals in the upcoming polls.

Timamy told his rivals, Fahim Twaha and Swaleh Imu, to challenge him in the polls “if they are real men”.

The outspoken governor said he will trounce all other aspirants with a huge margin just like he did during the last general poll.

“The year 2017 is here. Those who disappeared for five years will now resurface. But they should know that Lamu people are now clever, they cannot easily be cheated,” he said, as quoted by The Star.

He said not even money will enable his rivals to smoke him out of office come August.

“If they bring their money, it will be taken and they will not get votes,” he said.

Timamy further told his opponents that they dreams are not valid as they look forward to dethrone him from the county’s top seat.

“Their days are numbered. Fahim is outdated. I want them to come, including Imu, and even if there is a simu (an opponent called phone) I’m ready for them,” Timamy said, as quoted by The Star.

He asked residents not to vote for his rivals, arguing that they are rivals.

“I am aware that many of them grabbed land. It’s now revenge time for the grabbed lands,’’ he said.
