Wavinya Ndeti (party leader), Phillipe Saja (secretary general) and Davis Musau (National Organizing Secretary) spoke during official opening of CCU party office at Ikombe Ward in Yatta Sub County, Machakos County on Saturday.

They said as an independent party, CCU will join forces with Cord to oust the Jubilee administration on condition that its co-principal and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka becomes the flag bearer.

“CCU is not in Jubilee and we have no intentions to join the ruling coalition, those doubting us should visit the registrar of political parties offices for confirmation,” said Saja.

Saja said Chama Cha Uzalendo is not among the 13 parties that had shown interests to dissolve, merge and join Jubilee in readiness to the coalition’s official launching this September.

Ndeti said the party had strong membership in more than 42 counties across the nation and will therefore work with Cord coalition because it has same ideologies as those of CCU.

“We as a party are supporting Kalonzo Musyoka as 2017’s presidential candidate, we will join cord if he becomes the opposition coalition’s flag bearer,” said Ndeti.

Ndeti said the Cord coalition’s two other co-principals Raila Odinga (ODM) and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) should surrender their quests for presidency and voluntarily step down in favor of the Wiper leader in forthcoming polls.

“Raila has severally tried to be a president in vain, Weta and Raila should support Kalonzo this time round. Kalonzo has been a vice president hence there are high hopes he can make it to presidency, We will not be with them in 2017 if they do not support the Wiper leader,” said Ndeti.

Ndeti said as members of Kamba community, they were tired of being used by other tribes as conduits to presidency as the region continues remaining backward in terms of development.

She said the party had launched an intensive exercise of opening new offices across the country as it reactivates the more than 24 already existing ones.

Ndeti condemned the politicians who she claimed propel propaganda that CCU is a member of Jubilee coalition terming them liars.

She said such leaders were threatened due to the party’s popularity and might especially in Machakos County where she is rallying as a gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming polls.

Saja said Ndeti will be the first woman governor in Machakos County comes next year just like Hillary Clinton is expected to be the first US woman president in their forthcoming November elections.
