On Thursday,  Stephen Mbugua met with delegates from Nyanza region where he presented his manifesto ahead of the national elections in two weeks time.

Mbugua told delegates to elect him so as to revive the county chamber chapters that have stalled for years now.

"I know even offices and our workers have never been paid for years, once you elect me, I'll organise a funds drive to raise cash towards clearing the huge debts in our county chapters," he said.

Among the areas the candidate is intending to address if he is elected is to establish mechanisms of prudent management of resources and finances at the national chamber especially the Sh20 million monthly income from certificate of origin to ensure all counties share these resources equitably.

He said he will also engage relevant ministries to ensure the business community has a say on national matters.

"I will organise for forums and business workshops for the young entrepreneurs and as well motivate our youth who are business oriented as I engage ministries concerned for support," he added.

Mbugua is among four candidates who are eyeing the top seat to challenge the incumbent Mr Kiprono Kittony. The elections will be held on July 14.
