A woman who has been making local illicit brew known as busaa using dirty pots was on Tuesday attacked by customers.
This happened in Nyamarambe, South Mugirango constituency in Kisii County.
A customer by the name Sosi Nyangaresi claimed that the woman has been preparing the drink using dirty pots which was a threat to their health.
"We have severally tried to warn her but she was not ready to reason, this forced us to act so that she can follow instructions," he said.
Another customer Momanyi Ongeri said that the woman will never have customers until she improves her hygiene.
"Noone will ever come here to drink until she cleans all her pots. The container she is using to sell busaa are dirty including the pots," she said.
Mr David Kobingi, who is the area Nyumba Kumi boss said that the angry customers injured the seller.
"It is very unfortunate that people can take the law into their own hands. The woman is currently in hospital nursing her injuries," he said.
He also warned brewers saying that their days were numbered.
