Jubilee nominations in Changamwe were marred by conflict after residents alleged that MP aspirant Abdi Daib had ferried locals from his Somali community to vote in the area.Residents claimed people from different areas in the country were ferried by Daib to vote in Changamwe to ensure he clinches the party's ticket.Led by Rosemary Akinyi, a women activist, the Jubilee members claimed the primaries were not free, adding that a lot of residents' names were missing from the register yet those from Daib’s community were allowed to vote.“Why ferry locals from your community from as far as North Eastern if you have the support of locals within Changamwe?” said Akinyi. Her sentiments were echoed by Chaani MCA aspirant Christopher Kiio who said Daib should be investigated for contravening IEBC rules. However, responding to the allegations at Chaani social hall, Daib said such allegations were only propagating tribal politics among locals. He said the community within Changamwe fully supports his MP bid, adding that he is headed for a victory. He appealed to residents to work closely with him to ensure he clinches the seat.
