Member of Parliament for Changamwe Omar Mwinyi was on Monday charged for causing violence during the ODM nominations on Sunday.Mwinyi did not take a plea after it was deferred by his lawyers.The MP asked Mombasa Chief Magistrate Evans Makori to defer the plea for 30 days.His said the period would allow ODM party explore internal party dispute resolution mechanisms.“The charges are abuse of the court process, the party has internal dispute resolutions mechanisms,” said defence lawyer Mohamed Khatib.He further accused the Directorate of Public Prosecutions is being used to abuse the legal process.
