Kiambu TNA Coordinator Gladys Chania has urged youth in the county to apply for leadership positions in the national and county governments.
Speaking when she hosted Oracle Youth Group from Ruiru at her Right@Home Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre in Thika on Thursday, Ms Chania urged youth not to fear leadership.
She said youth can advance their interests and empowerment if they take up leadership positions.
Chania intimated that it is time young people took up positions in government and private sector noting that the country needs transformational change which she said youth are able to give.
“It is time young people took keen interest in politics and leadership for transformation change to be realised,” she said.
She further said that young people have ideas and skills that can transform leadership.
She urged youth to be on the front-line in championing for change noting that it is the only way some of the challenges facing the country would be addressed.
Chania who is also an anti-drug campaigner cautioned youth against engaging in drug and substance abuse.
The anti-drug crusader noted that many youth have been trapped in alcohol abuse and it is difficult for them to get out.
Chania vowed to continue fighting drug abuse across Kiambu County.
She urged the county government to work with her noting that drug and substance abuse among youth can be eradicated.
