Thika legislator Alice Ng’ang’a says that service delivery in sub-counties is being hampered due to insufficient funds.

Addressing the media yesterday, the MP noted that delivery of service is critical and the locals should not be denied services.

“I want to ask Governor Kabogo to channel development funds to sub-counties and constituencies for people to enjoy services,” she said.

The MP confirmed that the county is among those getting big share of the county development funds.

She said the main reason for devolving services to counties was to ensure locals at grass roots have access to services.

In the meantime, Ng’ang’a assured Thika residents that she is committed to improve their living standards.

The MP said that she is pushing for development reforms that will ensure every citizen has access to services.

The legislator noted that several projects, including provision of water to locals, cleaning of slums and allocation of bursary funds to needy students have been commissioned and done.

Nga’ng’a said her major effort is to transform youths and women economically and socially. She urged women and youths to be active and seek development funds.
