Kisumu Central MP Fred Ouda and Senator Fred Outa were forced to leave the event’s venue after supporters of Governor Nyong’o attacked them over claims of plotting to oust the Governor.

The chaos ensued after Nyakach MP Aduma Owuor accused the Senator of plotting to take over from the county boss when he was in the US receiving treatment after undergoing a hipbone surgery.

“When you were away, some busybodies were going around peddling lies that you promised them they would take over from you,” said Owour.

Last month, Nyong'o slammed politicians in the county accused of wishing him death and celebrating his illness.

“While some godforsaken individuals are writing my obituary at home, I feel quite good about myself though I miss home very much. At times, this can be extremely annoying and upsetting, especially when political busybodies reduce the important matter of one’s health to platform discourse, carried out for pure self-aggrandisement, in words that are insincere, dishonest, callous and absolutely uncivilized,” said Nyong’o.

Speaking on Friday during the thanksgiving ceremony at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground, Nyong’o thanked his deputy Mathews Owili and the county CeCs for the support they accorded him during the two-month period that he was away.

The county boss said he was still undertaking his duties while in the US, adding that he will deliver on his pre-election pledges.

“I was also working while out of the country. I had discussions with some American investors and we hope to deliver some medical machines in two weeks,” said Nyong’o, as quoted by the Nation.
