The exercise to elect the Nakuru Jubilee Elections Board on Monday turned chaotic after a section of aspirants differed publicly on who should be in the Board.
The fracas started after the officials from Jubilee Party Headquarters led by Vescah Kangogo announced that they needed 9 members in the board from all the Nakuru county constituencies forcing some constituencies to be merged.
However Nakuru Town East and Nakuru Town West could not agree on one name forcing the two groups one led by MP David Gikaria and aspirant Benson Mwangi to clash.
Even after the officials overseeing the elections gave them more time to sort out the misunderstandings, they still could not agree forcing the party officials to accept two names for Nakuru Town East and Nakuru West merged.
At the end of the exercise, the officials had 6 names plus 3 others from the special interest groups who will now be in the Jubilee Party Nakuru Election Board.
Addressing media after the exercise, Mrs.Kangogo aid the smart cards will not be used in party primaries.
“All Jubilee members will participate in our nominations and we shall not use the smart cards but the National IDs as long as you are in our register,” she said.
She also noted that the nominations will be carried out in all IEBC polling stations in Nakuru County.
