Mourners who gathered to pay their last respects to the late former Nyando MP Miruka Awuor were forced to scamper for their lives, as chaos erupted and police shot in the air in his Kisumu home.

This happened after supporters of the independent candidates clashed with those of ODM.

It all started after an MCA accused MP Fred Outa and Senator Anyang Nyong’o of rigging themselves during the ODM nominations.

Outa’s car was smashed with stones, and police had to whisk him away as the youths bade for his blood.

“The people who are coming out, especially from ODM party are being intimidates. Apart from what we have seen happen to Outa, there was a similar one at one of our MCAs where openly the people castigated against anyone from the ODM party,” said Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga.

ODM has declared Senator Anyang' Nyong'o as the winner of the Kisumu governor ticket after beating incumbent Jack Ranguma.

Outa on the other hand will be vying for the senatorial seat, one that was held by Anyang Nyong’o.
