It was a rampage early today when Kisii town bodaboda operators engaged the anti-riot police officers in running battles for what they termed as mistreatment from the traffic police officers.
The rowdy bodaboda operators took to the Kisi -Kilgoris and Kisii-Keroka highway where they barricaded the two roads hindering transport for a couple of hours before police came to restore calm.
Businesses around the total petrol station in Kisii town were closed for fear of looting.
The riots came a few hours from yesterday evening after one of the bodaboda operators was arrested over breaking the traffic rules.
It is due to that incident that the bodaboda members called for a strike this morning to demand his release.
More than 100 boda boda motorbikes confiscated at the police station as the owners to await judgement for participating in an unlawful riot.
