The group clashed at Shibale with ODM supporters, who were armed with rungus, while police watched helplessly.

The protesting youth who were chanting anti-Raila slogans, carried placards accusing Raila of owing Mumias Sugar Company money.

The ODM party leader is set to address residents at Mumias Bus Park before holding rallies in Shianda and Musanda.

On Thursday, Western region police commander Moses Ombati, said he had received reports of a plan to disrupt today's (Friday) rally, as Raila finalises his western tour.

The commander warned residents against engaging in chaos, adding that police had already been deployed in the area.

This comes after Jubilee supporters last week clashed with Cord supporters over posters that had been placed along the Kakamega-Mumias Road.
