Bitter rivalry and power struggles became evident during the election of Jubilee officials in Mombasa.
A section of delegates disrupted the Wednesday event claiming that some leaders have already been picked for different positions without their consent.
The drama unfolded following the arrival of former TNA secretary general Onyango Oloo at the Kenya School of Government.
Hell broke loose when some of the aspirants realised they did not have registration fee receipts, which Mr Oloo, who was the returning officer, said were a requirement.
Oloo’s frantic efforts to calm the delegates proved futile as a group of Ramadhan Mwatsahu’s supporters turned rowdy.
He was frog matched out of the premises by the mob as delegates chanted Mwatsahu’s name.
Oloo, however, refuted claims by some delegates that he had been presented with a list of preferred candidates before the exercise started.
“Some 11 persons came to my hotel room but I declined to talk to them. That is why I am here to ensure only those 19 elected officials’ names go to Nairobi,” he said, as quoted by the Nation.
The elections were later undertaken as planned amidst tight security.
Mr Chengo was elected county chairman while Mr Patrick Kabundu was named secretary.
Mr Maamun Abubakar who was elected teasurer and Ms Amina Abdalla took the position of the organising secretary.
