Safaricom has rescheduled their Chapa Dimba Coast Region finals to next weekend.

The finals were scheduled for this weekend at the Shanzu Teachers’ Training College, but will now be played on January 20.

According to the region’s coordinator Michael Karanja, this was due to unavoidable circumstances.

“Due to unavoidable circumstances, the Coast Regional Chapa Dimba finals, which were initially set for Saturday, January 13, have now been postponed to January 20,” the tournament’s coast regional co-ordinator Michael Karanja said on Thursday.

The tournament’s organizers were on the ground last week, where they inspected grounds that will be used for the finals.

Shimanzi Boyz from Mombasa, Shimba Hills Boys secondary and Waa Girls from Kwale and St. Johns Kaloleni Girls (South Coast); BreezeHam Boyz and Solwogidi Girls from Malindi, Iqra from Hola and Kilifi Queens (North Coast) will participate in the finals.

Winners will take home Sh200,000, while runners-up will bag Sh100,000.

The coast finals will be played after last weekend’s matches, which were staged in Northeast Kenya at Garissa Secondary grounds.
