Over 100 families whose houses were razed down by fire in Muhoroni Sub County have received charitable aid courtesy of Ogra and Omega foundations in Kisumu County.
The families from 12 households lost everything after fire burnt their houses at Shauri Yako Estate.
Most of the affected families have been seeking refuge and friends and relatives places after the incident.
Ogra Foundation Executive Director, Gabriel Amollo, visited the affected areas distributed blankets, flour, beans, mosquito net and utenci9lols to the families.
Amollo said one of the pillars of the foundation is to respond to such kind of disasters adding that they will continue to stand with families during times of emergencies or disasters like such.
He said the fire incident that occurred three days ago was unfortunate and the county government and other partners should come up with adequate plan to deal with such emergencies.
The director however cautioned families against mishandling fire lit in jikos, urging them to ensure safety at all times. The families who were affected welcomed the donations saying it was crucial for them to start a new life.
They however appealed to the county government of Kisumu to see disaster management as a priority.
