Former CIC chairperson Charles Nyachae was on Monday humiliated by a crowd that gathered to mourn the death of his mother in Nyosia farm, Nyaribari Kisii county.
Many dignitaries who attended the occasion were given a chance to address the mourners but when it was time for the Kisii County Governor James Ongwae, Mr Charles Nyachae asked him to stand, wave at the gathering and take back his seat.
That is when the crowd turned mad at Nyachae, they booed him and started chanting the governor's name demanding that he must address them. Mr Nyachae had no option but to give into the crowd's demands.
It is suspected that the former CIC boss may have done that on account of the fear that a chance to speak to the rich crowd could give the governor a political mileage towards the next general elections since the former is leading a team that seeks to send the governor home.
It is a common practice in Kenya that all dignitaries attending any event in Kenya are given time to address the gathering.
