The Jubilee administration has nominated Charles Nyachae to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) following the August 8 General Election.
On Thursday, a list of 15 nominees was released and Nyachae is reported to have topped the list thus making him the most stuitable candidate for the job.
The former Commission on Implementation of the Constitution Chairman lost the Kisii senatorial seat to former Education minister Prof Sam Ongeri of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Nyachae had been rumored to join President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Cabinet however Majority Leader Aden Duale opted to nominate him for EALA.
The Jubilee party is still remaining with five slots to fill while the remain will go the National Super Alliance (NASA) and Independents.
NASA is still yet to forward their list of nominees following a long dispute over choices fit for the position.
So far the opposition has submitted the names of Kennedy Kalonzo, the son of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, the ODM electoral board chair Judith Pareno, immediate former EALA MP Abubakar Zein, and newcomer, Ronald Ng’eny.
