The process of setting up an agricultural centre in Chebororwa has kicked off with plans to make it a centre of tourism in the region.

Speaking on Thursday after attending a graduation ceremony at the Tropical School of Management, Uasin Gishu County Deputy Governor said that fencing is almost complete.

"The process of fencing the 1,700 acres piece of land is almost complete, and we are poised to make it the best tourism atteraction in the region," he said.

He revealed that the project has so far cost the Uasin Gishu County Government Sh56 million.

"We have started to acquire animals such as Zebras, antelopes, giraffes, snakes among others and after fencing is complete, they will be brought to occupy the space," he said.

He warned residents against trespassing in the land saying they will be arrested and prosecuted.

"As Uasin Gishu county we are determined to make Uasin Gishu county a center of tourism in the next five years through marketing it through the North Rift Economic Bloc (Noreb) that will attract both local and international tourists," he said.
