Senate's Select Committee on Devolution chairman Wilfred Lesan has assured Uasin Gishu County government that the boundary dispute between them and Elgeyo/Marakwet County government will be settled amicably.
He said the dispute is whether Chebororwa ATC is located in Uasin Gishu or Elgeyo/Marakwet County.
"We have received a petition from the Elgeyo/Marakwet County government requesting us to investigate where it lies in the two counties since everyone says he is the rightful owner," he said.
Speaking during a session by Uasin Gishu County top leadership on Thursday to get their views on the same, Lessan urged the leaders to solve the boundary matters amicably by sharing the resources.
"Since the two governors are friends they should find a way of solving the matter out of court since the ATC benefits people from the two counties," he said.
They urged the two counties to coexist peacefully and shun incitement by politicians to cause chaos.
"We are aware that there are some politicians inciting resident to destroy property, they should shun such practices as we solve the matter," he said.
This comes after the county government of Elgeyo/Marakwet wrote a petition to the Senate, wanting to know the right full owner, administrative boundaries and the manner in which Chebororwa ATC was transfer to Uasin Gishu County.
