Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuro Aukot has said top IEBC bosses must resign ahead of the October, 17 polls.

Aukot accused politicians attacking the Judiciary saying unnecessary attacks to the Judiciary is same as attacking Kenyans, He dismissed a petition by Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu to remove Chief Justice David Maraga from office over gross misconduct claims.

Aukot said Jubilee party politicians should desist attacking the Supreme court since the same court ruled in their favor in 2013.

"Jubilee benefited in 2013 supreme Court ruling. Why should claim they claim that the judiciary did wrong in the 2017 ruling. Jubilee, through its people, should stop sideshows. The latest petition is ill intended and aimed at intimidating the judiciary", he said.

He added that the independence of the Judiciary should be respected by all leaders.

Aukot noted that IEBC top leaders led by chairman Wafula Chebukati and Ezra  Chiloba the election body CEO should resign since they failed to conduct free and fair elections in August 8.

Aukot vied for presidency in August 8 polls but lost to Jubilee's president Uhuru Kenyatta whose victory was nullified by Supreme court.
