The Consumers Federation of Kenya (COFEK) now wants IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati to cancel the October 26 repeat presidential polls and concentrate on uniting the country.

Through its chairperson Stephen Mutoro, the lobby group has asked the poll body to first consider putting the country together.

They highlighted a number of factors including withdrawal of NASA presidential candidate as one of the causes to worry as the country heads to the scheduled election date.

The federation has also faulted Chebukati for remaining silent on whether the laws being proposed by Jubilee MPs will apply during this election period.

They therefore asked the chairperson to go back to supreme court and request of postponement of the election.
