[Photo: NMG]Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati should take a cue from former commissioner Dr Rosyln Akombe and save the country from an imminent catastrophy by tendering his resignation immediately, Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandai has said.Addressing the press at the Parliament buildings on Wednesday, Wandayi said that Chebukati's commission cannot hold any free, fair, credible and verifiable elections and should, therefore, resign to save the country 'from sliding into abyss'."Our position as NASA has been confirmed by commissioner Dr Roslyn Akombe's resignation. IEBC has no capacity to hold credible election on October 26 and in the near future. We ask that all the commissioners led by Wafula Chebukati to do the same and resign," Wandayi said.He noted that the resignation of the whole commission, would send the country to the drawing board and enable proper electoral reforms to be put in place.Wandayi added that the commission has been engaging Kenyans in a 'wild goose race', instead of preparing for a credible poll.
