IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, has asked staff and commissioners who have been adversely mentioned by the NASA coalition, in its irreducible minimums, to step aside.
NASA, led by Raila Odinga, accused some commissioners, and the IEBC secretariat led by CEO Ezra Chiloba, to step aside, saying they colluded to rig the annulled August 8 presidential election.
NASA withdrew from the October 26th fresh presidential election, saying IEBC and accused the Jubilee government of stone walling a free, fair and credible poll.
Speaking, Wednesday, after Commissioner Dr Roselyn Akombe, resigned, and flee to New York, Chebukati said the adversely mentioned staff, should kindly step aside and allow the commission to go ahead with preparations for the election.
"I call upon staff who have been adversely mentioned to step aside," he said.
He added that, occasionally, majority of the commissioners, thwart his arguments and resolutions at the commission, and that he would allow that any more.
"If we cannot disagree and remain friends, then the foundation of our friendship is shaken. As a lawyer, I cannot continue to be pushed by the majority of the commissioners," he warned, as he addressed the press, at the Bomas of Kenya.
