Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Wafula Chebukati (right) talks to presidential aspirants Ekuru Aukot [Photo/Daily Nation]IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati and Thirdway Alliance Presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot took the better part of Friday to exchange words over the Al Ghurair ballot printing tender.Early on Friday, morning Aukot held a press conference claiming that his agents were not accorded the opportunity to establish the number of ballot papers printed so far."We did not count the number of ballot papers, take note of serial numbers of each constituency, and were not shown all the 290-plus pellets ready for export," he said."The team in Dubai must count and confirm the exact number of ballot papers printed, no of result forms, and serial no for each constituency," said Aukot," he added.
However, in a quick rejoinder, Chebukati questioned the sincerity of Aukot's claims.
"The issue raised by Thirdway Alliance are not candid and Aukot is not being genuine to Kenyans. There is no monkey business and each ballot will be accounted for," said Chebukati.
He further said that all stakeholders including Thirdway Alliance representative were in Dubai.
