The controversy surrounding the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO, Ezra Chiloba and chairman Wafula Chebukati has taken a new twist.
This is after Chiloba filed contempt of court orders against Chebukati for sending him (Chiloba) home on compulsory leave for the second time.
Chiloba expressed displeasure at the way the Chebukati and the remaining three commissioners had handled his case.
He cited foul play by some external influence. According to the files presented in court, the CEO wants Chebukati and commissioners Boya Molu, Abdi Guliye held in contempt of court
Chiloba is protesting denied access to the IEBC after a court lifted a three-month compulsory leave imposed on him by Chebukati.
However, a tough stand exists between the two heads with the chairman linking the CEO to last year's contentious election which was marked with mistrust and resource misuse, a job which is done by the CEO in the commission.
Should the CEO be reinstated by the court, working relationships between the two won't be as usual.
It should be noted that earlier in 2017 during the general election, Chebukati and Chiloba had seemingly separate views on how the election had been conducted.
