Mbula argues that Chebukati deserves no mercy and that he should be given time to go.

The vocal MCA claims that Chebukati almost burnt  the country by allegedly mismanaging the August 8, 2017 presidential election.

According to the MCA,  Chebukati alongside his commissioners and the  secretariat must be flushed out.

“Chebukati should stop seeking public sympathy because he almost plunged this country into chaos by mismanaging presidential election last year,” Mbula said.

Mbula said the issues surrounding the electoral commission currently is a confirmation of what the opposition was raising in the run up to last year’s polls.

She said opposition leaders raised serious issues which Chebukati and his commissioner’s casually  dismissed.

Mbula said the IEBC should be disbanded and a new team appointed to oversee the 2022 general election.

Pressure is piling on Chebukati to resign days after his deputy Connie Nkatha Maina and two commissioner's Margaret Mwachanya and Paul Kurgat resigned.
