Jubilee nominated MP Gideon Keter has accused IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati of being envious of the good work being done by IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba.

According to Keter, Chiloba has been undertaking his duties well without rubbing shoulders with other commissioners in the electoral body. For example, Keter cited that Chebukati was unable to give a clear response on allegations of hacking of the IEBC server which Chiloba clearly did.

"Chebukati is just envious of how Chiloba is carrying out his responsibilities in IEBC. People lost faith in Chebukati when he couldn't answer a simple question on the hacking claims fielded by NASA. Chiloba easily answered the question making him a darling to many," said Keter.

Keter further dismissed claims that Jubilee party has interests in IEBC so as to influence the October elections. The legislator affirmed that Jubilee has the numbers and an IEBC led by a person even as close to Raila Odinga will not stop President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.

"We have the numbers from MCAs all the way to governors. This means we have no interest in IEBC and even an appointment of a chair or CEO close to Raila will not deny us a win," added Keter.

Keter made the remarks on Sunday during a talk show on Radio Maisha where he added that the Supreme Court ruling will not impede IEBC from conducting the October elections.
