The chairman of the electoral agency Wafula Chebukati, has sent a warning to the political class, warning them against threatening his commissioners.

Speaking hours after Commissioner Dr Roselyn Akombe, resigned from the commission, and flee to New York, Chebukati said politicians have been issuing threats to the IEBC staff, something he will no longer tolerate.

"I am giving a yellow card to all the politicians. Let them allow us do our job, as per the constitution," warned Chebukati.

Presidential candidates in the October 26 poll include President Uhuru Kenyatta, and other five, after Raila Odinga withdrew.

IEBC however said Raila would be on the ballot.

"We are faced with the dilemma as a country due to the current political situation," he added, Wednesday.

He further dismissed claims that he would  resign, adding that he would not allow Kenya to be plunged into a crisis.

The sentiments were first brought to light by Akombe in her resignation letter, where she said that the political class had infiltrated the commission, threatening lives of some of the commissioners, a move that saw them, start taking political sides, even in board rooms.
