The chairman of the embattled IEBC, Wafula Chebukati, took advantage of the attention of a nation awaiting the declaration of presidential rerun results to offer words of wisdom.
Chebukati weighed in on the state of democracy in the country and how Kenya can avoid some of the pitfalls that it has faced in years.
While saying the future of Kenya's democracy was bright, the chairman rattled off the myriad challenges that the country must overcome
''A constitution is as good as the environment in which it operates. We cannot fix the politics of this nation if we cannot fix the economics...
Democracy is about hope, it's about creating a future that is greater than the present, it's about creating an environment and institutions that inspire a Kenyan dream,'' he said at the National Tallying Centre at The Bomas of Kenya.
