Indepedent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chair Wafula Chebukati has revealed how his family suffered in the run-up to the repeat presidential polls.
Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya on Monday during the announcement of the presidential results, Chebukati said that he had been reduced to a punching bag something that affected his family.
He stated that he was attacked in all directions, something that did not auger well back at home.
He however, thanked his family for understanding the circumstances.
“I want to thank my family – my wife and kids. They really bear the brunt of all the harassment I go through. When they watch television and people say all manner of things about me, they are the ones who feel it the most,” Mr Chebukati said.
Chebukati announced President Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner of the polls that were marred with boycotts from the opposition.
President Uhuru Kenyatta won the polls by 98 per cent, followed byNASA’s Raila Odinga who had 0.96 per cent.
