Chebukati and two other commissioners; Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye are under immense pressure to quit following an acrimony that led to resignation  of three commissioners on Monday.

On Borabu Watchtowers WhatsApp Group,  Osero, a close confidant of Ruto said Chebukati seems to be keen to continue holding on.

"When your colleagues resign and make you toothless,  the best thing to do is moving out.

"Sadly,  trying to solicit for help from the DP won't help given the pressure. My advise to DP is that he should just let them go," he added.

So far,  the three remaining IEBC commissioners have had their security details withdrawn under unclear circumstances.

Investigations done by the Standard however indicates that State House orchestrated resignation of three commissioners on Monday.

According to the paper,  senior state house officials held a meeting on Saturday with the former commissioners,  hours to their resignation.

Apparently, the three are said to be enjoying state protection even after quitting.
