Highly placed sources within the opposition team NASA reveals that IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati will on Wednesday move to Supreme Court to stop Thursday's polls.

Moments after resignation of commissioner Roselyne Akombe, a troubled Chebukati insisted that he may not be able to deliver a free and fair polls in the current political environment.

"He is ready to try to stop the polls and on Wednesday you will see him in Supreme Court," said a source who spoke in confidence.

Another senior ODM official added:"He is interested to leave a good legacy and I am certain that he will seek the court's interpretation on Wednesday."

With Chebukati confirming internal wrangles within the commission, he however warned that both leading presidential candidates should dialogue before repeat elections.

Although IEBC has included his name as one of the contestants, Raila Odinga maintains that his decision to withdraw stands.

Similar claims were made by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen who accused Chebukati of being a 'flip floppy'.

"We are aware of the plot by Chebukati to move to Supreme Court along some Civil Society representatives George Kegoro and Haron Ndubi," claimed Murkomen.

Despite the government declaring Wednesday a public holiday, Chief Justice David Maraga indicated that the court will be on session.

Hours before Thursday's repeat poll, Odinga is set to make a 'major announcement' even after urging his supporters to remain indoors during voting.
