Social media users have yet again tasked IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati to explain the inconsistent voter turnout figures in the Thursday's presidential repeat poll.

With preliminary figures showing a fairly poor turnout, Chebukati had estimated the figure to be around 48 percent of registered voters countrywide, a figure that is not adding up based on projections.

"The turnout is best at 48 percent in our own estimates. We have st least 6.5 million voters who turned up in 267 constituencies," he said.

But the latest projections that President Uhuru Kenyatta had garnered over 7.3 million votes, Twitter users have questioned the authticity of the results.

The controversial figures excludes polling stations from Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori and Turkana.

"It is funny that 6.5 million has now jumped to 7.4 million. This shows how rigging is real even without Raila Odinga," said Nelson Havi.

Lawyer James Orengo said:"Wafula chebukati shoudl have gone ahead to declare Uhuru winner with 9 million. We all know the voter turnout was miserable."

International media had projected the turnout at 33 percent, a figure which widely contradicts IEBC stand.

While it is not clear what the commission will do in areas which have not voted, it is however supported to declare results within seven days.
