Political analyst Dismas Mokua has called upon IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati to resign for failing to solve the ongoing political puzzle as the October 26 presidential elections approach.
Speaking in an interview on KTN News Sunday, Mokua said that lack of coordination within the body, including a leaked memo, is another factor demonstrating Chebukati's inability to take the nation to a Presidential election advising him to make a quick u-turn and take charge or quit.
''Chebukati has been allocated powers over all the other commission officials by the constitution and it is a pity that he sits still while things are not working in order. He has been unable to coordinate the agency and it is time he either took charge or resign to give space to other able Kenyans,'' said Mokua.
He also blamed the opposition alliance, NASA's complaints and withdrawal from the race on the chair accusing him of giving them a deaf ear.
''NASA is calling for transparency in the coming election resulting from the illegalities and irregularities pointed out by the Supreme Court in the petition. It is a pity that until now, Chebukati and team are yet to come out clear on the corrections that have been made so far,'' he said.
