IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati has been warned against proceeding with plans for the October 26 repeat presidential polls.
National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has warned Chebukati that any move towards the polls is illegal.
According to Odinga who was speaking from London, fresh elections should be held 90 days after his withdrawal from the race."When we wrote to the IEBC for my withdrawal, it meant they have to organize a fresh election in 90 days. There will be no elections on October 26, that should be clear," Odinga said.
He was speaking from London's Chatham House where he said that without the fulfillment of the NASA "irreducible minimums", the commission could not be expected to conduct a free and fair poll.
"We, therefore, came to the conclusion that there is no intention on the part of the IEBC to undertake any changes to ensure that the 'illegalities and irregularities' do not happen again," he is quoted by the Standard.
The NASA leader told the international community that the current political crisis is a result of an adamant regime clinging to power.
