IEBC vice chairman Consolata Nkatha has responded to claims that some commissioners are favoring different political outfits ahead of the repeat presidential polls,
This is after former commissioner Roselyn Akombe stated that the partisan position by a section of senior staff meant that the upcoming polls would not credible.
Akombe said that it was one of the reasons why she quit the commission.
Speaking on Saturday night after receiving the first batch of ballot papers, Nkatha dismissed the claims stating that Akombe was entitled to her opinion.
“People are entitled to their own personal opinions. We will not respond to Akombe’s comments. Not now,” Nkatha said.
The consignment received on Saturday contained 16 tons of ballot boxes destined for Turkana, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Tana River, Lamu, Garissa, Isiolo, Samburu, Laikipia counties and the Diaspora.
She further added that IEBC was ready for the Thursday polls.
