The security of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati has been beefed up with just a week left to the general elections.

Chebukati was given six more officers as well as two chase cars to protect him round the clock.

The decision to beef Chebukati's security was reached just days after IEBC's ICT manager Chris Msando was reported missing.

Msando's car has however been found near a residence in Nairobi's TRM mall parking lot at about 1 am Monday morning.
