Nominated senator, Liza Chelule has hinted she'll contest for the senator's position next year.
Speaking in Kuresoi South constituency over the weekend, the lawmaker said she'll use her leadership skills and her track record to clinch the position.
"I have been in the Senate and I'm therefore the best suited person in the position. I assure you the best representation," said the nominated senator.
Her remarks come a few weeks after the county speaker, Susan Kihika expressed her interest in the position.
Ms Chelule also took her time to urge leaders to unite towards a common success.
She also urged residents to register massively for next year's general election.
Chelule was speaking at a funds-drive for women empowerment where senator Kipchumba Murkomen was also in attendance.
