Chemelil stormed back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home to 10-man Gor Mahia thanks to a late goal from Benedicto Mwamlangara.
The visitors were leading 1-0 after four minutes through Humphrey Mieno, who glanced the ball into the net with a strong header beating Chemelil keeper after a Francis Kahata cross.
Fellow teammate Ephreim Guikan later doubled the lead in the 27th minute after a fine tink up with Innocent Wafula.
Gor had now started enjoying almost total dominace with a 2-0 lead and were thirty minutes away from winning their sixth consecutive game in a row.
But the home side relentless hard work paid off when the referee showed Gor's goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch a straight red card for mishandling the ball outside the box.
It took only ten minutes for Chemelil to exploit their numerical advantage, Charles Okiya showing great Technique slamming home a long range shot to pull one back for the millers in the 70th minute.
With an extra man and the crowd chearing them on, Chemelil laid siege when Benedicto levelled matters in the 75th minute.
2-2 was the final score at the Kericho Stadium, although Gor owe a debt to their keeper who had fine saves in the final minutes.
Gor still top the league on 26 points, three points above second placed Mathare united who have played two matches more.
