Speaking when he addressed youths at Eldoret town on Sunday, Chemno urged youths to be on the frontline and spearhead change instead of joining criminal gangs.

Chemno noted that development in the county will be achieved if young people work with their leaders.

“Uasin Gishu youths should come forward and support the projects being initiated by the county government,” he said.

To ensure youth involvement, Chemno said programmes have been launched where youths are encouraged and incorporated in development projects.

Chemno said the county government is committed to promote their welfare of youths by fighting unemployment.

He said that lack of jobs continue to affect many youths in Uasin County forcing many to crime.

Chemno appealed to county youths to take advantage of the Uwezo Fund and better themselves as the county government finds solutions to unemployment.

He also urged youths to be peace ambassadors and preach unity and harmony in their communities.

Chemno noted that youths are agents of peace and unity and that they should take the responsibility of uniting communities.

He also urged them to avoid leaders who might want to use them as weapons of violence and disunity.
