Addressing the press at county offices on Tuesday, Chemno said that Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) are the government ‘eyes’ at the grass root levels.

He further asserted that though MCAs are charged with oversight roles, they also represent the county government at the grass roots.

“We urge the Ward Representatives to be the voice of the government at Ward levels, and report residents’ grievances” he said.

Chemno said that the county government is implementing development in Wards through the MCAs, and called them to interact with the people more often and bring their concerns to the attention of the government.

He indicated that the Uasin Gishu government has initiated various development projects for the people at grass root levels.

The deputy governor asked residents to raise their issues with their MCAs or even walk to the county offices.

“Our offices are open for every member of the public who is seeking information or wants to raise any grievance,” he said.

The deputy noted that the government, under the stewardship of Governor Jackson Mandago, is committed to promoting development by bringing services closer to the people.
