The National Assembly Justice and Legal affairs Committee chairman claims there were massive irregularities that led to his loss.

"There was serious interference of the nominations. There was no fairness and did not meet my legitimate expectations. Two polling stations were left open until 3 am on Wednesday yet they were supposed to be closed at 5 pm on Tuesday. This opened the way for interference," said Chepkonga.

He was speaking at the Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI), Ainabkoi constituency tallying centre, Wednesday.

Chepkut, a longtime aide to former powerful minister Nicholas Biwott was declared the winner having garnered 13,685 votes while Chepkonga had 13,556 votes.

Chepkonga is among the four MPs who lost in the Uasin Gishu Jubilee party primaries.

Others are Edwin Baichilel (Soy), James Bett (Kesses) and Turbo's Elisha Busienei.
