Justice and Legal Affairs Committee chairperson, Samuel Chepkong'a has vowed to shoot down the report of the joint parliamentary select committee on IEBC reforms if they fail to table their report.
The Ainabkoi MP said that senators Kiraitu Murungi and James Orengo led committee has exceeded the 30 days that parliament sanctioned for them to work within.
According to Samuel Chepkong'a, the time for tabling the report by the Parliamentary Joint Select Committee on electoral reforms had lapsed.
He now wants the speaker of the National Assembly to pronounce himself on the failure of the team to beat the set deadline.
Chepkong'a further faulted the committee for failing to seek for an extension, to allow them to complete their work.
National Assembly speaker, Justin Muturi, however, downplayed Chepkong'as concerns further maintaining that he shall deal with the issue once the report is tabled.
If the speaker throws out the report by the Joint Select team, the resolutions achieved by the committee will be rendered null and void. This even as a white smoke finally billowed out from Windsor Hotel where the joint team had retreated to write their report.
The committee has finally unlocked all the contentious issues that had stood in the way of the politically negotiated electoral reforms.
