This is after a Facebook user, Boaz Kimutai suggested that the two popular legislators in the county might team up in a bid to succeed governor Jackson Mandago in 2022.

"WILLIAM CHEPKUT Governor 2022 Uasin Gishu county, Oscar Sudi deputy team sure bet," Kimutai posted on a popular Facebook group, UASIN GISHU COUNTY FORUM.

The post, however, elicited mixed reactions amongst the group members majority of who dismissed the combination.

Here are selected reactions to the post;

"Hahaha you are a joker, acha sisi tukae na MP wetu Chepkut hatutaki ugavana, hiyo we have preserved for Buzeki," Moses Ndumia said.

"Hii bangi tu watu huvuta sijui ilitoka wapi. Chepkut is a friend but we shall first revisit his achievements in 2020 before talking anything," a resident known as Politician Korir said.

"You only talk of 2022 but not following up on development agenda today?" Cecilia said.

"Chepkut, an MP by default can't make to the gubernatorial seat," Alex Kiprob noted.

"That county will collapse natural death," Peter Kipkorir said.

"Hahahaha eti nani, hata hiyo seat yake 2022 ya MP awezi pata ikue ya governor," Nickz Prince said.

"Roundi hii tunaangalia background ya masomo, we shall interview Sudi thoroughly and not in broken Swahili but in English in Citizen Bulletin Live at 9," Bundotich Irungu noted.

However, the two leaders have not officially expressed their ambitions to the top county job.

The Uasin Gishu's 2022 gubernatorial race is expected to be hotly contested one as the current governor Jackson Mandago is in his last term.
