Baringo North Member of Parliament William Cheptumo has retained his seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.
The lawmaker was handed the winner’s certificate Thursday morning after beating his opponent, Joseph Makilap.
He garnered 12,326 votes against Makilap's 12,239.
Mr Makilap was seeking the seat on the Peoples Development Reforms (PDR) party.
He has faulted the exercise, saying it was marred with irregularities.
“Why was it that the results delayed until Thursday in Baringo North. The results in other parts of the country had been announced by Wednesday,” Makilap said, as quoted by The Star.
He claimed those were not the full results.
