Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has pledged to diligently serve Kenyans after landing a new role at the Senate.
The youthful Jubilee Senator was on Thursday elected unopposed as the Chairperson of Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee in Senate.
In a post on his official Facebook page moments after his election, Cherargei, a lawyer by profession, thanked the Jubilee party leadership and fellow senators for supporting him.
"I thank God Almighty, my beloved family, Great people of Nandi county, Jubilee Leadership led by Our Party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto and Senate colleagues," the Senator wrote on his Facebook page on Thursday.
"We will serve our beloved country with utmost dedication and absolute commitment in our duties as legislators," he added.Cherargei will be deputised by Meru Senator Mithika Linturi.
